Ads may be necessary, but the ad experience is one of the poorest of them all. Incredibly distracting and aesthetically offensive.

I paid for Tapatalk Pro years ago to eliminate ads. Now it’s nearly unusable from my iPhone because it has not had any updates to fix issues such as numbers being translated to gibberish emoji tags. The regular app has those fixes but is just as unusable due to all the ads. I paid to not have ads and they dropped that support.

Developer knows of problems and doesn’t care

This app has to have one of the worst user experiences of any modern app in 2025. It’s absolutely stuffed with ads. When a forum participates, it makes impossible to browse the forum from a mobile browser, forcing you over to the app. The first page load displays a full screen blocking ad like some sort of cheap gaming app. When reading user posts on the forum, between every 3-5 posts they squeeze a full page video ad that pauses any content you’re playing / listening to in the background. It’s genuinely impressive how bad this experience is.

This was a useful app but has since turned into an advertisement junk pile. Add pop ups blaring at full volume. Pop up screens trigger randomly. Removed and not going back.

200k forums of nothing you have ever heard of. This is not the app if you are already a forum user. The likelihood of this app to have some of the common forums that you already frequent is close to zero. Most forums have disabled tapatalk access for various reasons. That said, I did kick them a vip sub as the actual software is not bad, it's the social bridges that they seem to have burned that is the issue. 10 years ago Tapatalk was a must have app. Now? Not so much. Yet another app killed by corporate greed.

Been a few since I've used tapatalk. But dang what hot garbage it is now. Aaaand I'm out...

App won’t work with ios18. It’s a disaster and developers refuse to repair the app.

Claims to have 200k + forums yet doesn’t have Accurate Shooter, which is home to one of the largest wealths of knowledge in the firearm world for anything shooting, reloading, ideas, competition, you name it. Has over 75k members and they miraculously don’t have it? Sounds like woke trash to me

Have been using this app for 6 years or so. The company has flooded the app with ads to the point that you cannot open a thread without a 30 second ad. Navigating through is now such a pain between glitches, freezing, and the relentless ads.

Now it’s terrible. Barely useable.

I’m not able to login after latest update. It refuses to recognize my password even after changing it!

I never leave reviews, but this app is so annoying it can’t be used. You can go down hundreds of posts and then out of nowhere it resets you back to the top, just to do it over and over. Unusable really.

Used to be great, then it switched owners. They killed the grandfather in program for previous users, and turned it into adware. No wonder so many forums dropped it.

It continually skips back 50-100 posts in a thread as you are scrolling making it almost impossible to use. The app has gone down hill dramatically over recent years.

Had used tapatalk for a decade, loved it. The last update that installed ads did two things: 1) Killed my enjoyment by making me sit through a 5-second ad before I view posts 2) Got me permanently stuck on an alternate account I don’t use anymore Roll back the crappy update and stop being greedy!!! I’ve stopped using the app in the meantime because I ain’t paying for what used to be free!

How ‘bout another bug fix?

It worked well enough and wasn’t too hard to learn. They lost support for Fora forums which was half the forums I used. Without access to Fora the Tapatalk app is useless to me. Uninstalled.

This is a useless forum now probably bought by someone that wants to use the platform for lies and conspiracies

Google Ads pop up all the time making viewing frustrating. I can live without it.

Got an ad immediately as I was searching for a forum to add. Immediate uninstall.

Love the app, been using it for years. But now it doesn’t work; I have multiple problems. Tapatalk people please fix it !

Won’t allow me to register so I can access the form I can’t even see what it wants from me to register just give me an error message saying the value of a number needs to be greater than 13

Been using the app for years first on Android then iOS. Had VIP sub until this last month when all the forums I followed bailed due to new owners of the app. It was good while it lasted but canceled that VIP sub now. Would turn it back on if the forums came back but that’s not sounding likely.

Recently, one by one, all the forums I was following in Tapatalk started to disappear. I have heard rumor that they have come under new ownershipand the agreements changed…my guess is they are asking for more money out of the forums and no one wants any part of it. Tapatalk used to be a great app, but not worth my time if the forums I want to take part in are bailing out.

Been a VIP for few years, and it was very convenient, despite often being very slow loading. Recently several forums I’m using, cancelled with TapTalk, and it’s even got worse with the few that are still there. Just not worth my time trying to get access over and over again. If you’ll fix it, I’ll pay VIP again.

Gets slow & crashes after a few minutes of use, especially reading long threads. I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled per the publishers suggestion. That turned out to be a royal pain, as it lost my credentials and I had to reset passwords on all of my forums. Someone please develop a better app!

So by end September 2023 because of the new ownership. 8 of the 10 forums I use with this app are leaving.

Forums are leaving in droves because of the new ownership. Way to go about being greedy.

I keep getting notifications of new posts in watched forums or threads and they are years old and no new posts. Before I realized this I took it for granted that what and where I was being directed to was correct. That was until I started getting called out for replying to old threads that were either solved or just old. I'd mention that it was Tapatalk that brought me there saying that there was a new post. Others started noticing that this was happening to them also. Just now I got notification that there was a new post in a 10 year old thread. I looked around and there wasn't one. I've looked and there aren't many settings for "time". But the one I found I set to what one would expect to fix the problem, but it doesn't. I love the way Tapatalk consolidates all your subscriptions, but hate using it knowing that 98% of the notifications are wrong.

Once again this app suddenly decides it’s going to stop uploading pictures in the middle of a long post… I was almost done and suddenly it no longer uploads pics. 40 minutes retrying and it’s all gone to waste. Constant problem with this app. Used to be good, now It’s gone to crap. Why should I keep paying for this garbage?

Paid five bucks for a year of no ads only for it to not work

App often becomes laggy, choppy, and unresponsive while scrolling feeds, to the point that it completely freezes and locks up. (But hey, ads right?) I can’t believe the dev attempts to charge folks for this poor experience. Do better.

Quote function on my forum doesn’t work anymore. It used to. Now acts just like a reply. Still getting too frequent crashes

I used to be able to use Tapatalk on the parrot forum. Then one day I couldn’t log in using the app. But I could log in on the website if I remember right. Now I can’t log in on the website. Even when I reset my password, and I try to log in, I’m told that my user name and or password is not correct. My user name is correct because I can reset my password. So what is it? I don’t know.

Nearly unusable after latest update- ads keep loading and reloading while scrolling through threads- MAKNG READING ACTUAL WORDS IMPOSSIBLE. And then crashes too. Unbelievable.

The app could be fantastic. Unfortunately it is way too buggy. It usually works well, but every now and then it fails to upload pictures while writing a message to post. The issue is not that failure. The issue is the fact that when this happens, the app goes ahead and posts whatever’s been written as a WHOLE NEW THREAD in the forum titled “temp subject” or something like that. So, instead of writing a reply to a pre-existing thread, it forms a whole new random thread. Really, REALLY ANNOYING.

App will pop up ads like those crappy fremium games but won't even let you skip over the ad after a time. You literally have to force close it and reopen and then maybe find where you reading.

Too many options on tiny iPhone 13 screen to choose from, makes this difficult to navigate. Notifications are endless requiring far too much micromanagement of the app to call it “user-friendly,” Also, can NOT make it go away, canceled and deleted app on iPhone, ipad, but it still pops up as an annoying banner on sites which work with Tapatalk. I thought by canceling, deleting the thing it would have the good graces to go away and stop bothering me, but, like McAfee antivirus once it’s on your pc you will never remove every vestige of it.

App has become very slow recently.

Takes forever to load up anything. On Wi-Fi, 5G, 4G all slow

Password reset doesn’t work. Spent 20min trying to login, finally gave up and just removed it.

Won’t work properly and it’s hard to contact anyone to solve issues.
