From bearable to worse

A "bug fix" update — in other words a "reset the abysmal ratings" update.

Same intrusive ads, no functional improvement. Still cannot do what can be done in any web browser.

My original review still stands:

Im angry at myself for falling for it and hitting the "UPDATE" button. The only change is that the ads are now FOUR TIMES LARGER than before! That, and a pop up screen to annoy you even more into paying for the app.

Bottom line is, as easy as it is to browse forums in the app, it is still no match for a web browser. Inexcusably, even such a basic feature as text formatting (bold, italic, etc.) is not included so its back to Safari for all but the simplest replies. Its also hit or miss whether a posted link will actually work. And, on my iPad 4, it crashes whenever it loads a photo-intensive post.

Im seeing less and less reason to use Tapatalk. I will certainly NEVER pay for it!
